I am one of Australia’s most experienced and trusted communications consultants. In three decades as a journalist, communications executive and consultant to a broad range of organisations, I have had the opportunity to learn what matters most in a whole range of challenging situations, and consistently deliver a successful communications approach.
Working beside executives and boards, in scenarios that threaten to impact reputation, culture and financial stability, have given me a unique level of insight into just what is possible when communications gets it right. I don’t believe in off-the-shelf, highly replicable communications solutions.
My experience includes working in the UK, India, Vietnam, New Zealand and China, where I established my first consultancy business. I have led communication teams in executive roles including Head of Marketing and Communications Institutional at ANZ Banking Group, Corporate Affairs Manager Seven Network, and Public Affairs Manager Foster’s Brewing Group.
As a journalist with The Age and The Herald Sun (Melbourne) and The Economist Intelligence Unit (HK/China), I built strong networks, a deep and broad understanding of government, media and public institutions and an agile, adaptive approach to crisis scenarios.
I have worked alongside and coached executives and Boards in all industry sectors, from primary industry and catering, to banking and law, and across the not-for-profit and government sectors. My personal communications skills, insights and strategies have been tested around the Boardroom table over many years, both as a non-executive director and as a trusted advisor and consultant.
I am an experienced facilitator and presenter. From concept, agenda and speaker liaison to marketing, hosting and facilitating executive events of all sizes, my work leading International CFO Forum and Women in Multinationals Forum underpins both my network of Australia’s most senior business and community leaders, and my commitment to building executive capability, particularly among women.
